Born in Cardiff, Meades began his career with his home town side Cardiff City, joining their academy at an early age of around 8 or 9. Along side Nathaniel Jarvis he signed schoolboy forms at the start of the 2008–09 season. On 23 May 2011, Meades was offered his first professional contract by Cardiff City alongside Ibrahim Farah, Alex Evans and Nathaniel Jarvis.[1]
Meades received his first Welsh under-21 call up for the game against Northern Ireland on 9 February 2011, but however wasn't involved in the game. His second call up came in the UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship qualifier against Montenegro after being placed on the stand by list.[2] He made his international debut, during this game on 6 September 2011, being brought on as a 76th minute substitue.[3]
